A friend of mine chose a Saint through the Saint's Name Generator as her "Patron Saint of the Year". I thought it was a brilliant idea, so I did the same! I ended up getting St. Edwin of Northumbria, who I had never heard of before this year!
As of a result, this blog is called "A Year With St. Edwin". This year, as he is my patron Saint, I am going to get to know him a little bit more each day. It's kinda funny that he came up because this year, I am really trying to deepen my faith so I feel like I am a convert, I want to be able to help people who don't believe in Catholicism better (because goodness knows, I am horrible at doing it. I don't understand how anyone can't believe in God and I'm horribly at articulating why God exists because I have so much faith He does) and I feel called to marriage and I want to have a large family. Also, his feast day is October 12, which so happens to be *the* day I got accepted into the music program at my university! Too funny!
With that said, this blog is going to be my way to share what I learn about him throughout this year.
Happy New Year! Make sure (unless you are housebound and sick like me) that you make it to Mass today -- it is a Holy Day of Obligation!
St. Edwin of Northumbria, pray for us!
